Jim Joyner, LICDC-CS, ICCS, Founder
I have almost 50 years of professional experience working in the field of alcohol and other drug prevention, intervention, treatment, education and training. I am a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor Clinical Supervisor(LICDC-CS) through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and an Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor (ICCS) through the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium. Over my career I have provided educational and consultative services for a variety of organizations and institutions which have included: the Ohio Lottery, W.V.I.Z. Channel 25, The Northern Ohio Academy of Pharmacy, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, MetroHealth Social Work Department, Cleveland Board of Education, Case Western Reserve & John Carroll Universities, Hiram & Wooster Colleges, City of Cleveland Police Department, Cuyahoga County Bar Association, Beaumont and Shaw High Schools. I have received numerous proclamations and awards for my prevention, training and advocacy efforts including the Cuyahoga County's Employee Red Ribbon Program Presenter Recognition (1993 - 2000), the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Prevention Association of Ohio (ADAPAO) Prevention Award For Excellence In Public and Organizational Policy 2003, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Exceptional Achievement Award 2005, Ohio Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors (OAADAC) Advocate of the Year Award 2008.
My Belief
My professional experience brings me to one clear and undisputable conclusion. “There is no other problem that we face in America today that has greater negative impact on the quality of life that touches every man, woman and child then the combined consequences related to the misuse of and addiction to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs”. Whether you consider crime, chronic illness, premature death, health care costs, child abuse and neglect, preventable birth defects, or lost productivity in the workplace, the harmful use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs are the primary root cause or catalyst. More importantly I know that these problems can be arrested through comprehensive programs of prevention, treatment and education. I am dedicated both personally and professionally to that end.
My Mission
To arrest the negative consequences related to the misuse and addictive use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and substances through comprehensive education, intervention, support, and advocacy programming.
